Oopbuy Spreadsheet fees, exchange rate and storage clock
What you pay, what you can choose to pay, and the deadline that turns a postponed split into an urgent one.
What you actually pay: the cost breakdown
The Service and Fees page is short. No other fees are charged except product fees, international shipping fees and customs clearance fees, with value-added services bought as needed. The total cost is product cost plus international shipping plus the customs declaration fee.
- Product cost: the item price plus freight inside mainland China from the seller to the warehouse.
- International shipping: calculated from the parcel's weight, the route and the destination.
- Customs declaration fee: generally 8 CNY per parcel, depending on the route.
- Agent service fee: none.
Two of these scale with the number of parcels, not the number of items: the declaration fee and the first-weight portion of shipping. That is the price of every split.
The exchange rate printed on every quote
The estimator prints each route in CNY and in USD. On October 10, 2026 the US 1 kg quote for DDF-GOFO-US-1 was 200.72 CNY and 33.59 USD. Divide one by the other and you get 5.9756. The same divisor reproduces every other row in that response: the USD figure is CNY divided by a fixed number, not a live market rate.
That matters when you compare two parcel plans in dollars. The dollar figures carry whatever gap exists between 5.9756 and the market rate on the day. That dated display comparison does not establish the total conversion cost for a different payment method or account.
The top-up page describes the account side differently: PayPal recharges are converted to US dollars, and the operator says it adjusts in real time based on the latest Bank of China rate. We print both because both appear on official pages.
Topping up: PayPal and the two published rates
Oopbuy works from an account balance. Top-up options on the official pages include PayPal, Wise, international credit cards, Klarna and bank transfer. Wise recharge supports five currencies: USD, GBP, EUR, NZD and AUD.
The PayPal fee is printed twice, differently. The top-up page says the current fee for recharging with PayPal is 4.5% + $0.30. An FAQ answer gives approximately 3.7% + $0.30. We cannot tell you which one your payment will meet; confirm the fee displayed for your actual funding method before paying.
Top-up fees affect splitting only indirectly. A supplementary payment for a heavier final weight, or a second parcel you did not plan for, can mean a second top-up and a second fixed $0.30.
Other payment details are on the official Oopbuy site.
Warehouse extras priced per parcel
The value-added services are optional, and most of them are priced per parcel.
| Service | Price | What it buys |
|---|---|---|
| Rehearsal packing | 20 CNY per parcel | The real packed weight before you submit. |
| Parcel photo | 5 CNY per parcel | One photo before sealing, one after. |
| Detailed photo | 1 CNY each | Extra photos or local measurements of an item. |
| Storage extension | 10 CNY per 30 days | Time beyond the 90 free days. |
| Customs declaration | 8 CNY per parcel (usual) | Charged on every parcel. |
Rehearsal can clarify the physical packing plan before submission; compare its cost with the uncertainty you need to resolve.
The storage clock and why it pushes split decisions
Free storage is 90 days, counted from the order status received. Abnormal packages, for example parcels signed for by the warehouse with incomplete logistics information, have 30 days from signed for. After the free period, the Storage page offers extension at 10 CNY per 30 days.

The ceiling is where the official pages disagree. The Storage page states no maximum. The customised logistics page allows one extension of up to 30 days, for 120 days in total. The value-added services table says extension applies to items stored 60 to 90 days with a maximum storage of six months, and an older helper article still promises six months free. The shopping guidelines add that if no shipment order is created within 120 days, goods may be disposed of through points-mall redemption or destruction.
Read together, the safe plan is 90 days. Waiting for one slow item to complete a box is a real trade: the box gets cheaper per item, and the clock on everything else keeps running.
Insurance on a split shipment
Oopbuy offers three kinds of cover where a route supports them. Delay insurance pays 20 percent of the shipping cost if delivery takes more than 30 or 40 days from shipment, depending on the route. Customs seizure cover and loss or damage cover compensate according to the parcel and the route's standards. Whether a route supports insurance is shown on the estimator as Insurance Available.
The claim rules are strict on time. No claim is accepted after 7 days from signed delivery or 45 days from dispatch. Exclusions include force majeure, no proof, a parcel stolen after delivery, non-insurable categories, prohibited items and customer fault.
Splitting doubles the paperwork: two parcels, two delivery dates, two claim windows.
Claims start from the after-sales request; contacts are on the help page.
Budget the item and the parcel separately
Before buying, list the item price, domestic delivery and the actual funding or currency conversion charge. Then allow for international freight based on the contents, destination and likely packed size. A coupon face value is not savings until the checkout accepts it for that bill.
Before dispatch, replace the allowance with the measured parcel, chosen route and extras. Compare the same basket and service level when considering one box versus two. Do not add an estimated exchange-rate percentage to an amount that already includes conversion: read the credited currency and total paid.
Optional rehearsal, extra photographs, packaging and protection should solve an identified need. A pre-weigh may clarify a difficult parcel, but it is not guaranteed to save more than its fee. Ask what will change if you later alter the contents or packing method.
